Report: Will Fuller could earn $3M in incentives with Miami Dolphins tied to touchdowns, yards and receptions

The Miami Dolphins improved their offense this offseason by adding former Houston Texans wide receiver Will Fuller.

Fuller’s deal is for one year but worth $10.6 million. However, according to the Sun Sentinel’s Omar Kelly, Fuller could take home even more money with incentives.

“While Fuller’s deal doesn’t put him among the NFL’s 20 highest-paid receivers this year, he did receive the most incentive-laden contract the Dolphins have given out this past decade, if not longer,” Kelly wrote.

“Fuller, who left the Houston Texans to join the Dolphins, has three incentives that could escalate his take home pay by $3 million, according to a league source.

“But there’s a catch considering they are all contingent on the Dolphins producing one of the NFL’s 20-best offenses.

“That is the only way the three incentives in his contract — which are each worth $1 million — can be triggered.”

Fuller’s incentives will be tied to his touchdown, receiving yards and catches next season, according to Kelly.

He will receive one of the incentives if he totals nine or more scores, something that Fuller has never done in his career.

As for receiving yards, Fuller will receive $250,000 if he reaches the 880-yard mark. He will receive $250,000 more for reaching 1,000 yards, 1,100 yards and the 1,250-yard mark as well.

Lastly, Fuller’s first receptions bonus of $300,000 will trigger if he catches 54 or more passes. He will also receive $350,000 bonuses if he reaches 63 and 70 receptions on the season.

Fuller’s career high for receptions in a season is 53 which he set last year.

If Fuller lives up to his potential he stands to cash in, and the Dolphins’ offense should reap the benefits.
