Report: Miami Dolphins signing offensive tackle D.J. Fluker

The Miami Dolphins continue to make moves in an attempt to finally return to the NFL playoffs.

On Monday, it was reported that they had signed veteran offensive lineman D.J. Fluker.

Fluker was the 11th player chosen in the 2013 NFL Draft. He was named to the NFL All-Rookie Team that year as a member of the then-San Diego Chargers.

After three more seasons in Southern California, Fluker bounced around the league, as he has had stints with the New York Giants, Seattle Seahawks and Baltimore Ravens.

The acquisition of Fluker comes amidst reports that the Fins have apparently committed to building around Tua Tagovailoa. A few weeks ago, they traded the third overall pick in this year’s draft to the San Francisco 49ers and received the 12th pick in return.

Miami then flipped that pick to the Philadelphia Eagles for the sixth pick in the draft.

This draft-day maneuvering effectively ended speculation that the Dolphins would be targeting another quarterback from the college ranks in an attempt to move on from Tagovailoa.
