Report: Miami Dolphins signing edge rusher Brennan Scarlett to one-year deal
- Updated: March 19, 2021
The Miami Dolphins took another step toward bolstering their defense by signing edge rusher Brennan Scarlett to a one-year contract.
Per source, Dolphins are signing edge rusher Brennan Scarlett to a one year deal. Has appeared in 56 games, with 22 starts, for Texans past five years. Joins Van Ginkel, Biegel as established OLBs on roster.

The 27-year-old Scarlett has is coming off a down 2020 campaign in which he failed to pick up any sacks after collecting 3.5 during the 2019 season.
On the tackle front, Scarlett only had 28 stops last season after 51 the year before. He does bring an aggressive approach to the field, having forced a trio of fumbles during the course of his career.
The Dolphins may add more defenders to their roster prior to next month’s draft, though they’re likely to also use at least one of their high draft picks to build up that unit.
