The Dolphins drafted Tagovailoa with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
He started nine games for Miami last season and led them to a 6-3 record.
While Tagovailoa and the Dolphins faltered in Week 17 against the Buffalo Bills and missed the playoffs, Flores clearly is operating with the notion that Tagovailoa is Miami’s quarterback of the future.
As a rookie, Tagovailoa threw for 1,814 yards, 11 touchdowns and five interceptions.
Miami hopes that he can take the next step in 2021 after having an NFL season under his belt.
