Coming out of the University of Alabama, Tua Tagovailoa was clearly one of the most talented players in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Despite injury concerns, the Dolphins selected Tagovailoa with the No. 5 overall pick in the draft with the plan that he would one day be the franchise quarterback.
Now, the team is turning to Tagovailoa for its Week 8 matchup with the Los Angeles Rams.
Taking over for veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick, the rookie will be tasked with trying to improve on Miami’s solid 3-3 record so far this season.
Dolphins edge rusher Shaq Lawson seems to have all the confidence in the world that the rookie quarterback will get the job done.
Tagovailoa made his debut in the Dolphins’ Week 6 blowout win over the New York Jets.
He completed both of his pass attempts for nine yards.
Clearly, it was enough for Miami to give him the keys to the offense. Now, it is up to him to show the entire NFL that the Dolphins made the right call in making him their quarterback of the present and future.
