Report: Miami Dolphins given clearance to have max capacity at next home game

On Wednesday, it was reported that Florida governor Ron DeSantis gave the Miami Dolphins clearance to fill Hard Rock Stadium to full capacity during home games.

Despite being given approval to have full capacity for their games, the Dolphins will continue to only seat a maximum of 13,000 for their next home contest.

The original rules were put in place in order to try to achieve a maximum level of safety in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

DeSantis has been one of the more aggressive governors when it comes to rolling back previously instituted safety protocols.

The decisions by DeSantis have often been met with criticism about the prospect of putting people’s health in danger. In this particular case, the Dolphins are choosing to ignore the relaxation of the restrictions in place for the time being.

The Dolphins will be on the road for the next two weeks. Their Oct. 25 matchup will see the Dolphins hosting the Los Angeles Chargers.

Regardless of the size of the crowd, it’s likely that Dolphins head coach Brian Flores would simply like the team to win a game on their home field after a pair of losses to open the 2020 season.
