Russell Wilson offers enormous praise for Tua Tagovailoa ahead of Week 4 matchup

The Miami Dolphins made the biggest move in their rebuilding process this year by selecting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa out of the University of Alabama in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Although Tua has yet to play a down on the NFL level with Ryan Fitzpatrick currently the starter for Miami, the 22-year-old is clearly the future face of the franchise.

With a long with a promising career on the horizon, Tagovailoa is already receiving high praise from his peers, like Seattle Seahawks superstar Russell Wilson.

With three weeks in the books for the Dolphins and Seahawks, Wilson is arguably the leading candidate to win NFL MVP this season. He has dominated the competition these past three weeks, throwing for a historic 14 touchdowns during that span, breaking Patrick Mahomes’ previous record.

As for the Dolphins, the first three weeks of the season have been rough. The team lost consecutive games to division rivals in the New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills before getting its first win against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday.

At this point, there’s no telling when Tagovailoa will get his shot under center for the Dolphins. Fitzpatrick is doing enough to keep Miami competitive coming off his best game of the season with two passing touchdowns to go along with a rushing touchdown.

Considering Tagovailoa’s recent injury history, the Dolphins may not be in a rush to get him on the field. That could change if Fitzpatrick starts to struggle or head coach Brian Flores wants some fresh blood at quarterback.
