Brian Flores gives promising update on Miami Dolphins cornerback Byron Jones
- Updated: September 28, 2020
Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores provided an update on the status of cornerback Byron Jones’ groin injury.
The injury has limited Jones to playing just one series over the Dolphins’ past two games.
“Byron is working extremely hard to get back as soon as he can,” Flores said of Jones on Monday.
“He’s in here working and making a lot of improvement. We’ll see how this goes this week.”
Jones injured his groin in the first quarter of the Dolphins’ Week 2 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
It has been a huge blow to the Dolphins secondary, as Miami was relying on Jones to be its top corner this season.
Instead, Miami hasn’t been able to see what its defense can do at full strength with Jones and cornerback Xavien Howard struggling to stay on the field together.
Still, the Dolphins were able to win against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 3.
The Dolphins are hosting the undefeated Seattle Seahawks in Week 4 of the NFL season.
