The Miami Dolphins will honor legendary coach Don Shula during the 2020 NFL season by wearing a commemorative patch on their jerseys.

Shula, the winningest coach in Dolphins and NFL history, passed away this year at age 90.

He was the Dolphins head coach from 1970 to 1995, where he led the team to two Super Bowl titles.

Shula was the head coach for the historic 1972 Dolphins, who went undefeated and won the first of Shula’s back-to-back Super Bowl titles.

That team remains the only one in NFL history to go undefeated throughout the entire regular season and NFL playoffs.

Shula retired following the 1995 season.

Throughout his coaching career, Shula compiled an amazing 328-156-6 regular season record. His teams also went 19-17 in 36 playoff games.

The Dolphins will open their season on Sept. 13 against their division rival, the New England Patriots.
