NFL Analyst Picks DeVante Parker to Be Miami Dolphins’ MVP This Season

After a busy offseason, the Miami Dolphins are in a prime position to improve in 2020.

The Dolphins drafted quarterback Tua Tagovailoa at No. 5 overall, and signed key free agents Byron Jones, Kyle Van Noy and Jordan Howard.

Despite all those new faces, one analyst is expecting an old face to shine the brightest this season.

In an NFL.com article predicting each AFC team’s 2020 MVP, DeVante Parker was selected for the Dolphins.

“Parker broke out as your classic late bloomer, dropping a 72-1,202-9 line on 128 targets after four years of ‘first-round bust’ talk,” Around the NFL’s Dan Hanzus wrote. “No one thinks that anymore, and the Dolphins reaffirmed their faith with a four-year extension last December. Whether it’s Ryan Fitzpatrick or Tua Tagovailoa delivering passes, Parker is going to eat this season.”

It’s hard to argue with that logic.

While it is tempting to go with one of the Dolphins’ prized offseason additions, Parker is the safest pick. He knows the team and has proven he can perform in Miami.

The quarterback situation likely won’t impact Parker too much either. He had a career year last season with Fitzpatrick under center, and Tagovailoa will likely look to him as a safety net if he gets the starting job.

Interestingly enough, Parker was the only AFC wide receiver selected in the article.

In a conference loaded with receivers such as Odell Beckham Jr., Keenan Allen and Tyreek Hill, among others, it’s notable that Parker was the only predicted MVP.

Analysts clearly expect a big season from Parker in 2020.
