Zero Miami Dolphins Appear in Latest List of Top 100 NFL Players of 2020

The Miami Dolphins have added a host of talented players during the offseason, but one media member was apparently unimpressed and put no Dolphins on his list of the top 100 players for the 2020 NFL season.

Pete Prisco of CBS Sports offered his opinions on the league’s top players, but chose to omit members of the Dolphins.

Prisco didn’t completely ignore members of the Dolphins by listing three players in the honorable mention category: wide receiver DeVante Parker, linebacker Kyle Van Noy and cornerback Byron Jones.

In the case of Van Noy and Jones, those two players were acquired during the free-agency period. Jones left the Dallas Cowboys and became the NFL’s highest-paid cornerback.

Jones’ five-year deal is for $82.5 million and guarantees him $57 million. During the first two years of the deal, he’ll be paid $40 million.

Van Noy comes from the New England Patriots and is reuniting with Dolphins head coach Brian Flores. Van Noy’s four-year deal is worth an estimated $51 million, with $30 million of that guaranteed.

Last season, Parker bounced back from injuries in 2018 to catch a career-high 72 passes for 1,202 yards and nine touchdowns. He was originally selected by the Dolphins with the 14th overall pick of the 2015 draft.

In truth, the offseason opinions of NFL insiders can hardly be considered a vision of how the upcoming season will unfold. It’s possible that by the end of the 2020 campaign, Prisco may have to reassess his thoughts.
