Former Dolphins Wideout Leaves Massive Tip at Restaurant on 1st Day of Allowed In-House Dining

Former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver and Broward County resident Chad Johnson did his part on Monday to aid restaurant workers affected by the recent economic shutdowns by leaving a huge tip for his meal at a South Florida establishment.

Monday marked the first day that in-house dining in restaurants were allowed in both Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

Johnson spent $37.40 for his meal at the Cooper City restaurant Havana’s Cuban Cuisine and made sure he showed his appreciation to his server by adding a $1,000 tip.

In addition to his generous tip, he added a short message, and in the tweet, referenced a verse from the Bible that states, “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”

In response, Havana’s Cuban Cuisine made sure to publicly thank Johnson on their Facebook page, noting that Johnson’s visit was not the first time he had eaten at the restaurant.

Johnson spent the majority of his NFL career with the Bengals and also played for the New England Patriots. A short-lived attempt to play for the Dolphins ended before he played in any games, with Johnson also playing in the Canadian Football League and taking part in a kicking tryout earlier this year with the XFL.
