On Saturday, the Miami Dolphins added a major talent to their stable of running backs when they completed a trade with the San Francisco 49ers for Matt Breida.
Shortly after the deal went down, Breida took to social media to pen a heartfelt message to the 49ers and express his excitement for what’s to come in Miami.
The 25-year-old Breida had a solid season last year despite splitting carries with a number of backs in San Francisco.
He finished the year with 623 yards on 123 attempts, giving him a season average of 5.1 yards per carry.
He also caught 22 passes out of the backfield for 120 total yards last season.
Breida will join fellow newcomer Jordan Howard to form what could be a versatile and dangerous one-two punch in Miami’s backfield.
With the draft in the books and few valuable free agents left unsigned, it will be interesting to see if the Dolphins look to get any more deals done to add more talent to their roster.
