Report: Miami Dolphins Have Expressed ‘Clear Intrigue’ Regarding Jordan Love

The Miami Dolphins are widely expected to select a quarterback in the upcoming NFL draft, but there is still quite a bit of uncertainty regarding who that quarterback will be.

According to a recent report from ESPN’s Cameron Wolfe, one option may be Utah State University’s Jordan Love.

“The Dolphins have expressed clear intrigue with him during their meetings at the Senior Bowl and at the NFL combine,” he wrote. “Miami also hosted Love for a pre-draft meeting at the team facility (prior to the NFL’s canceling those meetings because of the coronavirus pandemic), and Miami held a video-call meeting, a source told ESPN.”

While Love threw an impressive 32 touchdowns to just six interceptions in 2018, his production dropped off significantly last season.

He finished the year with 20 passing touchdowns and 17 total interceptions. He also led his team to just a 7-6 record on the season.

Love’s upside is still clearly attractive to NFL teams. While he already has elite-level arm talent, he isn’t quite as polished as the other quarterbacks that sit atop NFL draft boards.

Love seems like more of a risk when it comes to a top-five pick, but some of the best quarterbacks currently in the NFL were considered risks when they were coming out of college.

Whether or not the Dolphins decide to take a risk on Love could be one of the more fascinating storylines as the draft fast approaches.
