Adam Gase Rips Into Dolphins Offense Following Blowout Loss

The fallout of Thursday night’s 40-0 loss to the Baltimore Ravens continued on Friday when Miami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase spoke to reporters to place much of the blame on his team’s offense.

“No, it’s not on defense,” Gase said during a press conference on Friday. “Defense is fine. Special teams, we seem to be alright, maybe that’s because it’s just easy. You just run straight and hit somebody. But offensively it’s a joke. At some point guys gotta realize that it takes a little effort outside this building to actually be good.”

Gase and the Dolphins are coming off one of the worst offensive performances of the season. In the game, backup quarterback Matt Moore passed for just 176 yards and threw two interceptions that were returned for touchdowns, and running back Jay Ajayi added just 23 yards on the ground in 13 carries.

“I’m pissed. I’m tired of this. I’m tired of the offense being awful and guys better, they need to get their heads right. Coaching staff needs to do a better job, because obviously our players not knowing is a direct reflection on them,” Gase continued. “I’m gonna play the guys that know what to do, so the fanbase might not like it, but oh well. We’re the worst offense in football. It’s hard to go lower than that.”

Gase seemed ready to make drastic changes to his team’s offense. With the Dolphins averaging just 13.1 points and 252.4 yards per game this season, that might be exactly what this team needs.

With over a week until the Dolphins’ Week 9 matchup against the Oakland Raiders, it will be fascinating to see what kind of changes Gase implements as he attempts to get his team back on track.
