Five Keys to Success in Order for Miami Dolphins to Beat Los Angeles Chargers

3. Win the Turnover Battle

Both Cutler and longtime Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers have been prone to turning the ball over in the past, so it is highly important that the Dolphins capitalize on turnovers in this game.

The Dolphins defense will likely give up yards through the air to Rivers, as the Miami secondary remains a big question mark at cornerback heading into this season.

The long-awaited return of star safety Reshad Jones after being absent since last October with a rotator cuff injury is a huge boost for the Dolphins secondary, so Miami needs to be able to force more turnovers with him back on defense.

Jones knows that the Dolphins have a lot of talent on their defense, so they must come out on Sunday and be able to make key plays.

“Nothing should be said about my return,” Jones said to the Palm Beach Post after practice on Wednesday. “There are great players on this team. We’ve got a great staff. We’ve just got to win some football games. I just want to continue to come out and do what I’ve been doing. I’m just here to do what I’ve been doing for this football team for eight years. Be consistent. Make plays.”
