According to writer Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com, recent claims made by former NFL executive Michael Lombardi that the Miami Dolphins were open to trading star wide receiver Jarvis Landry are not accurate at all.
Miami head coach Adam Gase even went up to Landry and personally told him that Lombardi’s report was simply not true.
“I did talk to him and told him there’s no chance that he’s going to be traded,” Gase said to ESPN.com on Monday. “And if something that’s not true comes out like that, then I’m going to deal with it. I’m going to approach the player. I just let him know that there’s no chance I’m going to trade you.”
Landry is currently tied with New York Giants star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. for the most receptions through their first three seasons with 288 apiece.
Slated to become an unrestricted free agent after the 2017-18 season, Landry and the Dolphins have not yet been able to get a contract extension done.
