A post from Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill made the rounds on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Saturday.

Hill showed love to Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams in his post and hinted that the rookie reminds him of someone else.

Williams has been compared to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes at times, and many folks on X took Hill’s tweet to mean something along those lines.

Hill and Mahomes were teammates on the Chiefs from the 2017 season through the 2021 campaign.

They were consistently among the most productive offensive duos in the NFL during their time together. Mahomes and Hill even led the Chiefs to a Super Bowl victory in the 2019 season.

Shifting gears to Williams, he was selected by the Bears with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and had some eyes on him during a preseason game versus the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday.

The Bears played three quarterbacks in total against the Bengals, so Williams threw just 13 passes in the game. He completed six of those attempts and finished with 75 passing yards. He didn’t throw for any touchdowns, but he did run for one.

Williams made his preseason debut against the Buffalo Bills on Aug. 10 and produced when his name was called in that contest. He threw for the most yards (95) of any of the four quarterbacks who played for the Bears and also converted four of his seven passing attempts.

The 22-year-old’s next opportunity to take the field for the Bears in the preseason will come when Chicago ironically faces off against Mahomes’ team on Aug. 22.

After taking on the Chiefs, Chicago will have a couple of weeks to rest before the start of the 2024 regular season kicks off. The Bears will commence their season with a matchup against the Tennessee Titans โ€” who won just six of their 17 games during the 2023 regular season โ€” on Sept. 8.

Hill might have jumped the gun if he did indeed compare Williams to Mahomes, seeing as how Williams has yet to play a single regular-season game in the NFL. However, the youngster certainly has tons of potential and deserves recognition for that.
