Free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. defended himself on social media after he posted a photo with his mother on a “date night.”
Beckham appeared to be spending some quality time with his mother, but people on social media called out the images that Beckham posted, as they appeared to be showing off his mother’s body.

One user commented wondering why Beckham was showing off his mother’s “goodies” on social media.
The three-time Pro Bowler defended the post, responding to another comment by saying that everybody can “show off what they work hard for” in response to some of the criticism that he was receiving.
Clearly Beckham didn’t have a problem with the photos, so it’s interesting that others questioned him since it was his personal decision on what to post.
This offseason, Beckham has been rumored as a potential target for the Dolphins, with head coach Mike McDaniel revealing that the team made him an offer to join the franchise in free agency.
While Beckham isn’t the same player that he was early in his career with the New York Giants, he could certainly still boost a Dolphins offense that already features receivers like Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.
In recent seasons, injuries have slowed the former Offensive Rookie of the Year’s career, as he missed the entire 2022 season after suffering a torn ACL in the Super Bowl while with the Los Angeles Rams in the 2021 season.
Beckham was instrumental in helping the Rams win the Super Bowl that season – including in the game he was injured – as he caught two passes for 52 yards and a score against the Cincinnati Bengals.
In the 2023 season for the Baltimore Ravens, Beckham appeared in 14 regular season games and made six starts. He was targeted 64 times, making 35 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns.
Baltimore released Beckham this offseason after the team came up short in the playoffs, losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game. Beckham made three receptions in that game, but he didn’t have a major role in the playoffs for Baltimore, making just four catches on seven targets across two games.
It’ll be interesting to see if Beckham ends up in Miami to team up with Hill, Waddle and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in the 2024 season. Miami’s offense was already lethal last season, finishing first in the league in total yards and second in points scored.
Adding Beckham would give McDaniel and Tagovailoa yet another great option in the passing game.
