An anonymous Miami Dolphins player was not happy with Kansas City Chiefs player Chris Jones being in the team’s locker room after the Dolphins’ playoff loss to Kansas City on Saturday night.

According to the Sun Sentinel’s Chris Perkins, Jones was in the Dolphins locker room – along with former Chiefs pass rusher Tamba Hali – to visit with Dolphins pass rusher Justin Houston.

Houston, a former Chiefs player, signed with the Dolphins prior to the team’s playoff game due to Miami’s injuries at the linebacker spot. Bradley Chubb, Jaelan Phillips, Cameron Goode, Jerome Baker and Andrew Van Ginkel all missed Saturday’s playoff loss.

Jones, Houston and Hali are all longtime friends, but some Dolphins players were rubbed the wrong way by Jones being in the team’s locker room.

“I would have told them to get the (expletive) out,” one offensive player told Perkins on Monday as the Dolphins were cleaning out their lockers.

“That would have had me hot.”

Another Dolphins player – this one a veteran defensive player – was surprised that Jones and Hali were in the locker room after the game.

“I’ve never seen anything like that,” he said.

Still, the defensive player said he understood, sharing that it was just Houston and Jones showing respect for each other.

Houston didn’t seem to think it was an issue, as he was just showing love to his former teammates.

“Houston said he didn’t think it was a big deal to have opposing players (technically, one opposing player and one retired player from the opposing team) in the locker room,” Perkins wrote.

Houston had only been with the Dolphins for a handful of days, sharing that once the season’s over, that he wants to show love.

“When it’s over, it’s over,” Houston said of the season. “You still show love.”

Miami scored just seven points on Saturday in the loss to the Chiefs, the team’s second straight season with a first-round playoff exit.

The Chiefs – led by Patrick Mahomes – are looking to defend their Super Bowl title from last season. Kansas City will play the Buffalo Bills in the next round of the playoffs after Buffalo beat the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday.

The Baltimore Ravens will take on the Houston Texans in the other AFC playoff matchup.

Miami will look to regroup this offseason to find a way to improve and hopefully win a playoff game next season. Hopefully, the Dolphins won’t have to deal with another locker room with opponents in it after they lose in the postseason.
