The Miami Dolphins may have some obstacles to deal with in their upcoming matchup against the Dallas Cowboys on Christmas Eve.

Miami could only have one regular offensive line starter available in Terron Armstead, who has logged seven starts with the Dolphins during the 2023 regular season.

Robert Hunt and Austin Jackson are dealing with injuries, while Connor Williams and Isaiah Wynn are on injured reserve.

The Dolphins won their most recent game against the New York Jets in convincing fashion. They beat the Jets by a final score of 30-0 to improve their record to 10-4, including 6-1 at home.

Conversely, the Jets dropped to 5-9 on the season with the loss. They own the second-worst record in the AFC East division, ahead of only the New England Patriots, who, at 3-11, have been one of the worst teams in the league.

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa massively outperformed Jets quarterback Trevor Siemian — who replaced an injured Zach Wilson — in the game. The former threw for 224 yards and one touchdown, while the latter finished with a mere 110 passing yards to go along with zero passing touchdowns and two interceptions.

The Dolphins also performed far better than the Jets from a receiving standpoint. No Jets player ended up with more than 29 receiving yards in the game. Meanwhile, wide receiver Jaylen Waddle — who is in his third season with Miami since being selected with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft — led the way for the Dolphins with 142 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown on eight receptions.

While the Dolphins could end up being severely undermanned on their offensive line against the Cowboys, there’s still reason to believe they can win the game and take another step toward the AFC East crown. After all, the Dolphins will host the Cowboys, and Dallas hasn’t been a very good road team this season. The squad owns just a 3-4 road record and is fresh off a road loss to the Buffalo Bills on Dec. 17.
