The Miami Dolphins remain undefeated in the 2023 NFL regular season.

They won their Week 2 matchup against quarterback Mac Jones and the New England Patriots by a final score of 24-17 to improve to 2-0 on the season. The Patriots, meanwhile, now own a subpar 0-2 record and will play their next two games on the road.

One of the top performers for the Dolphins in the win was star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle. Waddle finished with a team-high 86 receiving yards on four receptions, giving him 21.5 yards per reception.

While did leave the game with an injury in the fourth quarter, he was upbeat on social media after the win.

Waddle was selected with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft following a three-season stint playing college football at the University of Alabama. He finished with over 550 receiving yards and at least four receiving touchdowns in each of his three seasons as a member of the Crimson Tide.

Arguably his best season of college football came during his freshman campaign, the 2018 season. That year, the wide receiver totaled 848 receiving yards and seven receiving touchdowns in 15 games played with Alabama.

Waddle’s contributions translated into a whole lot of success for the 2018 iteration of the Crimson Tide. They finished the season with an incredible 14-1 record but lost to Clemson University in the national title game by a final score of 44-16. Waddle racked up just 25 receiving yards in the loss.

On the bright side, he got redemption by helping Alabama win the national championship in the 2020 season.

The 24-year-old is in the midst of his third season in the NFL, all as a member of the Dolphins franchise. He is fresh off the best season of his pro career, as he totaled 1,356 receiving yards and eight receiving touchdowns in 17 appearances with the Dolphins during the 2022 regular season (all starts).

Additionally, Waddle’s longest reception a season ago went for an incredible 84 yards.

It makes sense that Waddle took to social media to celebrate the road victory in Week 2, seeing as the Patriots are a tough opponent and Waddle performed at a high level in the win. Here’s to hoping that the Dolphins can continue rolling on Sunday when they take on quarterback Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos.
