The Arizona Cardinals reportedly have hired Jeremy Walls, a longtime member of the Miami Dolphins organization, as their chief operating officer, running the team’s business operations.

Walls had been the Dolphins’ chief revenue officer since 2020, and he had been with the Dolphins’ organization and Hard Rock Stadium since 2013. Walls went to college at Mount Vernon Nazarene University, earning a degree in sports management.

Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill shared his excitement about adding Walls to the team’s front office.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jeremy and his family to the Cardinals,” Bidwill said. “He is clearly one of the brightest and most innovative minds in our industry and comes to the Cardinals with a clear vision for engaging our fan base and enhancing our business and brand. Jeremy has demonstrated his ability at every stage of his career, including the NBA, MLB, NFL, Formula 1 and professional tennis. Most recently he has played a critical role in the Dolphins organizational success. Adding an individual as talented and accomplished as Jeremy immediately makes us a better organization.”

Before moving to the senior vice president and chief revenue officer position with the Dolphins in 2020, Walls served as senior vice president and chief marketing officer for the organization.

His role with Miami was to oversee the “team’s corporate partnerships, marketing, ticket sales and operations, member services, suites and food/beverage,” per the team’s website. Walls thanked the organization for his 10 years there.

“It has been an honor to be part of the Miami Dolphins organization for the past 10 years,” Walls said. “I am grateful to have worked with a special group of people and for two innovative leaders in Stephen Ross and Tom Garfinkel. My family and I are excited to move home to Arizona and to be part of this great franchise, with a bright future. Michael is a strong leader who I admire. He is committed to creating a winning organization and he cares immensely about the Arizona community. I look forward to working with him and the rest of our organization as we take this historic franchise to the next level.”

Prior to working with the Dolphins, Walls spent time with the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball. With the Padres, Walls served as the vice president of ticket sales, service and operations.

He also worked for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Phoenix Suns and National Basketball Association in various roles.

Walls’ expertise earned him a spot on Sports Business Journal’s esteemed 40 Under 40 list in 2017.

The Cardinals are clearly getting a great mind in the sports world to help lead their organization. The move leaves a bit of a void for Miami entering the 2023 regular season.

The Dolphins and Cardinals aren’t set to face each other in the regular season, but there’s always a chance the two sides play one another in the Super Bowl.
