It seems like Dalvin Cook is destined to land with a team in the AFC East. He’s been linked pretty often to the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets while being occasionally linked to the New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills.

While plenty of people seem to believe that the Miami native will land with the Dolphins, the Jets appear to have “more interest than most realize.”

“The Dolphins are interested, at their price,” wrote Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio. “The Jets have more interest than most realize, because of running back Breece Hall’s ongoing ACL recovery and because they’re already gone all in by trading for quarterback Aaron Rodgers. And there’s a net gain to being the team that gets him, since that team keeps him away from the other.”

The Jets appear to be all in on winning a Super Bowl this coming season after making a blockbuster trade for Rodgers. The team has also made some notable moves elsewhere on the roster.

All signs point to Hall being ready for Week 1 of the regular season, but perhaps he’ll have some rust when he first returns. The 22-year-old ran for 463 yards and four touchdowns last season before going down with a torn ACL.

Having a running back like Cook would likely do wonders for the Jets, and a one-two punch of Cook and Hall would be among the best in the league.

Cook would fit in pretty well with any of the four AFC East teams. While the Dolphins have plenty of talented running backs already on their roster, a team can never have too much talent.

The four-time Pro Bowler is one of the league’s most talented tailbacks, having registered four straight seasons with over 1,000 rushing yards. During that span, he’s averaged 1,256 rushing yards and 10.8 rushing touchdowns per season.

He’s also a threat through the air, as he’s caught at least 34 passes in every season since his second year in the league.

Miami has apparently made an offer to Cook already. The Florida State University product also spoke well about a potential role on the team.

His agent was in Miami recently, though it’s important to note that he shares agents with Dolphins rookie Cam Smith, who signed his rookie contract with the team recently.
