Jevon Holland sends big warning to opposing offenses as he gears up for new season

Miami Dolphins second-year safety Jevon Holland is ready to put his opponents on notice.

Holland said that he wants opposing offenses to “fear” him as he prepares for the start of the 2022 regular season.

Holland, a second-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, had a strong rookie season and has become a key part of the Dolphins’ secondary.

He appeared in 16 games for the Dolphins as a rookie, making 13 starts. Holland picked up 69 tackles, three tackles for a loss, seven quarterback hits, three fumble recoveries and two interceptions. The 22-year old started every game he played in from Week 5 through the end of the season.

Holland certainly has a solid foundation to build off of in his second NFL season. Playing in a secondary that also features Byron Jones and Xavien Howard, Holland has the ability to become one of the better safeties in the NFL.

The Dolphins are trending up heading into the 2022 season, as the team made several big moves on offense. After going over .500 in each of the last two seasons, the Dolphins are hoping to get into the playoffs in the 2022 campaign.

Holland will have a key role for Miami if it wants to make the postseason, as he is listed as the team’s starting safety opposite of Brandon Jones.

If Holland and the Dolphins come out of the gate strong in the 2022 season, there’s no doubt that opposing offenses will be focused on making sure he doesn’t mess up their flow.

The Dolphins open the 2022 regular season on Sunday, Sept. 11 against the New England Patriots.
