Report: Dates leaked for Miami Dolphins’ regular season games vs. New England Patriots
- Updated: May 12, 2022

The 2022 NFL regular season is still many months away from getting started, but Miami Dolphins fans now know a little bit about what their favorite team’s schedule will look like in the upcoming campaign.
On Thursday, two reports from different sources detailed when the Dolphins will be facing off against the New England Patriots in the 2022 NFL season.
“According to sources, the Patriots will kick off the 2022 regular season at Miami on Sept. 11 at 1 p.m,” Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald reported. “This marks the first time in six years the Pats will open on the road.”
The other game between the two teams will take place during the holiday season.

It’s exciting news to be sure, and it gives Dolphins fans a little bit of insight into when they can expect their team to face off against a solid rival.
As all football fans know, the Patriots dominated the AFC East and NFL for many years thanks to the dominance of quarterback Tom Brady. Now that Brady is playing elsewhere, there is a lot more parity in the division.
Still, the Dolphins have yet to take full advantage of that fact and have failed to make the playoffs since the 2016 season.
The 2022 season is going to be an important chance for the Dolphins to prove that they’re ready to take the next step. After just missing out on the playoffs the last two seasons, the team will try to get over the hump this time around.
A lot of that is going to hinge on the progression of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. If he can take the next step and prove once and for all that he was deserving of being the No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 draft, then the sky will likely be the limit for the talented team.
Surely, a good sign of where the Dolphins stand in terms of ability will be clarified in their rumored Week 1 matchup against the Pats.
