Xavien Howard heaps major praise upon Jevon Holland, compares him to 3-time All-Pro safety
- Updated: December 8, 2021

Miami Dolphins star Xavien Howard recently spoke about rookie Jevon Holland and heaped some major praise on the youngster.
Howard explained that Holland is “rangy as hell” and reminds him of Eric Berry.
“He gonna be a great safety in this league, bro,” Howard said. “He rangy as hell, bro. The crazy part, he remind me of Eric Berry. I never told him that, but he remind me of Eric Berry, but I never told him that though. I think he gonna be special, bro.”
It’s certainly high praise for a player to be compared to Berry. Berry is a five-time Pro Bowler who was one of the league’s best defensive players during his prime years.
It remains to be seen if Holland will get to that level, but he definitely seems to be on an exciting trajectory. The first-year player is proving to the Dolphins that they made the right choice by selecting him in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Holland has nine passes defended and two interceptions to his credit this season. He has also recovered three fumbles. He has appeared in all 13 of Miami’s games.
Time will tell if the promising youngster can help the Dolphins reach the playoffs this season. Miami is in the midst of a monster winning streak, which has helped the team get back into the postseason discussion.
With four games to go, the Dolphins are 6-7. Miami doesn’t have much room left for error, and if the team can finish strong, it could find itself in the playoffs for the first time since the 2016 season.
