Brian Flores offers interesting response on Miami Dolphins’ odds of acquiring Odell Beckham Jr.
- Updated: November 5, 2021
After lots of speculation, the Cleveland Browns are officially parting ways with wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
The 29-year-old figures to land somewhere, as he’s capable of helping out a number of teams.
On Friday, Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores was asked about the possibility of the team pursuing Beckham. He offered an interesting response, stating that Miami will do its “due diligence.”
He also explained that the team checks the waiver wire every day.
“We check the waiver wire every day,” he said. “We look at it. Go through it. Yes, expect [us] to do due diligence on any player that’s on the waiver wire. We will always do what we feel is best for the organization. We’ve said that time and time again. Yes, I expect due diligence.”
Beckham would certainly be a flashy addition for Miami. The three-time Pro Bowler has a big fan base and is capable of performing at a very high level when he’s in the right situation.
Many folks feel that his situation in Cleveland wasn’t a good fit. Over six games with the Browns this season, he caught just 17 passes for 232 yards.
Not too long ago, Beckham was considered one of the top wide receivers in the league. He has five seasons with at least 1,000 receiving yards under his belt, including one such season as recently as 2019.

Time will tell if the Dolphins end up getting involved in the Beckham sweepstakes. Unfortunately, Miami likely isn’t headed for the playoffs this season even if the team adds the star.
