Agent predicts Tua Tagovailoa won’t last with Miami Dolphins because ‘he’s not who they thought he was’
- Updated: August 24, 2021
In a new survey, an anonymous NFL agent offered the prediction that Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will prove to be a disappointment.
He went on to predict that Tagovailoa will eventually be replaced by the team.
Ben Standig of The Athletic showed comments from numerous NFL agents. One agent pegged Tagovailoa as a passer who could be on the move sooner rather than later.
“(Ben) Roethlisberger will be out (in Pittsburgh), and there’s a ripple effect there,” said the agent. “I think you’ll see Tua out (in Miami). With Tua, they’re going to see he’s not who they thought he was and the owner (Stephen Ross) won’t wait.”
Tagovailoa is only beginning his second NFL season. He managed to start nine games as a rookie after coming back from career-threatening hip injury the year before.
The Dolphins tried to ease Tagovailoa into his starting role, and the young passer won six of the nine games he started.
As a result, the team nearly made the playoffs last season. This year, expectations are high for both Tagovailoa and the team.
Tagovailoa was selected with the No. 5 overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft and is clearly seen as the franchise’s quarterback of the future.
Hopefully, the doubt that Tagovailoa is facing leading up to this season pushes the talented youngster to work even harder to achieve his lofty goals.
