Report: Xavien Howard leaves Miami Dolphins practice with new injury

1 Min Read

Miami Dolphins cornerback Xavien Howard missed Thursday’s training camp practice with a minor injury.

At first, there was some speculation that his departure from practice meant that he had been traded. That rumor was quickly snuffed out.

Howard has been seeking a new contract from the Dolphins after putting together an outstanding 2020 campaign in which he finished with 10 interceptions.

The Dolphins have thus far declined to follow through, which led to Howard issuing a trade request on Wednesday.

It is unclear what the future holds for Howard in Miami, but at the moment he remains with the club.

Howard has had injury issues in the past and while his current injury appears to be minor, it will be something to watch as his contract dispute with the Dolphins continues.
