Miami Dolphins cornerback Xavien Howard took a cryptic shot at the Dolphins organization with his Instagram story on Tuesday.
Howard, 28, has been holding out from Miami’s offseason program as he is in search of a new contract.
The former second-round pick had a huge season in 2020. He intercepted 10 passes and recorded 20 passes defended which both led the league.
Howard was named an All-Pro for the first time in his career, and now he wants his contract to reflect his play.
The Dolphins have not budged on a new deal for Howard yet, as he signed a five-year deal with the team that kicked in last season.
Howard’s post seems to signal that he is willing to hold out until Miami realizes how much it needs him on defense.
The Dolphins are looking to improve on a 10-6 campaign in 2020, but that will be hard to do if Howard isn’t with the team by Week 1.
