Tagovailoa, the No. 5 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, finished his rookie year with 1,814 passing yards and 11 touchdowns. He also threw five interceptions.
Tagovailoa showed flashes, but he was also benched in two games this season for veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick.
After taking over the starting quarterback role in Week 8, Tagovailoa led the Dolphins to a 6-3 record in his nine starts.
While Miami missed the playoffs, Tagovailoa’s teammates still seem confident that the youngster can lead the team in the years to come.
