Report: Miami Dolphins provide big update on Tua Tagovailoa’s status vs. New York Jets

The Miami Dolphins look like they are going to make a quarterback change.

Rookie Tua Tagovailoa reportedly has been downgraded to doubtful for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.

The Dolphins reportedly wouldn’t let Tagovailoa play on Sunday if his injured thumb was bothering him.

Miami will likely turn to veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick in Week 12 to take down the winless Jets.

Tagovailoa was benched for Fitzpatrick in Miami’s Week 11 loss to the Denver Broncos.

Tagovailoa struggled in the loss, throwing for just 83 yards before he was removed.

Fitzpatrick beat the Jets earlier this season before he was benched for Tagovailoa.

The No. 5 pick in the NFL Draft, Tagovailoa will need to get healthy as Miami continues to evaluate him as its potential franchise quarterback.
