1 Min Read

Miami Dolphins rookie running back Salvon Ahmed is out for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.

Ahmed has been a pleasant surprise for the Dolphins this season.

After Myles Gaskin went on injured reserve, Ahmed stepped in as the Dolphins’ primary running back.

This season, Ahmed has carried the ball 40 times for 166 yards and one rushing touchdown. He is averaging 4.2 yards per carry.

His best game this season came in Week 10 against the Los Angeles Chargers. Ahmed carried the ball 21 times for 85 yards and a score.

Miami will now move forward with Matt Breida and Patrick Laird at running back if Gaskin is unable to return.
