The Miami Dolphins are 1-0 since turning to rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa as their starter.

The University of Alabama product helped lead the Dolphins to a 28-17 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

In the win, the rookie made an impressive touchdown pass to DeVante Parker. The pass was recorded as the “smallest window TD throw” in the NFL this season, according to Next Gen Stats.

It is an impressive feat for Tagovailoa, who showed flashes of his potential in the win.

Overall, he completed 12 of his 22 pass attempts for 93 yards and the lone touchdown. He added two carries but did not gain any yardage.

Regardless, the most important stat for Tagovailoa is that he got his first career win.

Miami is now 4-3 and in second place in the AFC East behind the Buffalo Bills. The Dolphins are firmly in the playoff hunt, and it will be up to Tagovailoa to get them there.

Next up for the rookie will be the Arizona Cardinals and star quarterback Kyler Murray next Sunday.
