Miami Dolphins news: Byron Jones takes huge step to return from injury
- Updated: October 8, 2020
Miami Dolphins star cornerback Byron Jones missed last week’s matchup against the Seattle Seahawks with a groin injury.
However, Jones took a major step to potentially return against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5.
Jones was a full participant in Thursday’s practice, which should put him on track to return this Sunday.

Jones was hurt in Miami’s Week 2 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
The University of Connecticut product’s return would be a huge boost for the Miami secondary. The 49ers got star tight end George Kittle and top wideout Deebo Samuel back from injury last week.
Adding Jones as an option to cover those two threats would certainly give Miami a better chance at picking up its second win of the season.
Jones signed a massive deal with the Dolphins this offseason, but he has yet to get a chance to prove his worth on the field due to his injury.
