Mike Gesicki Discusses Personal Goals for Upcoming Season With Miami Dolphins
- Updated: June 21, 2020
One of the most exciting players on the Miami Dolphins roster is tight end Mike Gesicki.
After enjoying a solid start to his season last year, Gesicki became a touchdown machine in the final weeks of the campaign.
He scored five touchdowns in the Dolphins’ final six games.
His best performance came in the team’s penultimate game of the season, when he hauled in six catches for 82 yards and two touchdowns.
Now, Gesicki is looking towards what he hopes to accomplish in the upcoming season.
“I’m excited for another opportunity to go out and do what I love to do,” said Gesicki. “I’m sure every guy on the team is, too. I think regardless of whatever scheme you’re in, system you’re in, I think you earn the opportunities you’re presented with. Regardless of what the X’s and O’s are, what you do in practice on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, what you do in training camp, what you do before the games starts on Sunday, I think those are the opportunities you earn yourself.”
With rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa reportedly making major gains in his rehabilitation from injury, it remains unclear who will be lining up under center once Week 1 rolls around.
No matter who it is, Gesicki will surely look to pick up where he left off when it comes to hauling in passes and offering support as a blocker on the line.
