Tim Tebow Says Tua Tagovailoa Has Chance to ‘Totally Change’ Miami Dolphins

When the Miami Dolphins drafted Tua Tagovailoa with the No. 5 overall pick in the draft, they drafted a young quarterback that could completely change the fortunes of the franchise.

At least, that’s what former NFL quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow believes.

“I think Tua is one of the most accurate, gifted quarterbacks I’ve ever seen coming out of college,” he said. “I think he has a chance to totally change the franchise. He is a remarkable passer, remarkably great kid. I eliminate every barrier I possibly can to him getting hurt or not having success. I try to fit a team around him that could possibly be successful right when he takes the field, whether that’s in a year, whether that’s in half a year of sitting, whatever it is. I really build it because I really think he has the chance to really change a franchise.”

There’s little doubt that Tagovailoa is a brilliant talent. In fact, it’s quite likely that if injury concerns did not exist for him, he would have been the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.

During his time at the University of Alabama, Tagovailoa threw for 7,442 yards, tossed 87 total touchdowns and committed just 11 interceptions.

If he can bring that kind of production to South Florida, there is no doubt that he absolutely will change the franchise.

With that being said, Dolphins fans may have to be patient.

At the moment, it does not appear as though Tagovailoa will enter the upcoming season as the starting quarterback.
