Tua Tagovailoa is the new franchise quarterback of the Miami Dolphins, and his mother couldn’t be happier.

Several months ago, during Super Bowl Weekend, Tagovailoa’s mother, Diane, said that she wanted her son to end up in South Florida.

After months of speculation and contrasting information, the Dolphins happily selected the University of Alabama star with the No. 5 overall pick on Thursday.

While the younger Tagovailoa does bring a bit of baggage in the form of injury concerns, his elite talent cannot be questioned.

In fact, if it wasn’t for his hip injury last season, it’s quite likely that the younger Tagovailoa would have gone first overall. His combination of leadership, physical ability and football IQ has made him a favorite of football analysts for years.

Now, the younger Tagovailoa will be tasked with bringing his winning ways to Miami.

While his mother will surely be happy to be in South Florida, the younger Tagovailoa will have to produce early and often for Dolphins fans to remain happy about his presence in the Sunshine State.
