Miami Dolphins News: Dolphins Sign Former Patriots Linebacker Elandon Roberts

The NFL offseason is in full swing, with teams all around the league looking for ways to bolster their roster on both sides of the ball.

On Wednesday, the Miami Dolphins made a splash in the free-agency market by agreeing to a deal with former New England Patriots linebacker Elandon Roberts.

Roberts had played for the Dolphins’ division rivals since entering the league as a sixth-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Last season, Roberts finished the season with 29 total tackles and one sack, a significant drop-off compared to his previous two seasons.

In 2017, he finished with 67 total tackles. In the following year, he ended the season with 65.

A major reason for that drop-off is likely due to the fact that he started just three games last year.

Now in Miami, Roberts will surely have the opportunity to bolster a defense that ranked near the bottom of the league in total yards allowed.
